PURI: 03/11/2023: In a highly anticipated announcement, Puri King Gajapati Dibyasingha Deb has revealed that the long-awaited Srimandir Parikrama Project is on track to be officially unveiled to the public on January 17, 2023. The King, accompanied by SJTA chief Ranjan Kumar Das and district Collector Samarth Verma, recently reviewed the project’s progress.

While addressing the public, the King shared his excitement, stating, “Though I have not reviewed the Parikrama project yet, it has neared its completion and it will be thrown open for the public on January 17, 2023. A puja and havan will also be held on that day.”

Ranjan Kumar Das, the Chief Administrator of Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA), expressed his enthusiasm for the project’s inauguration. He said, “With the help of the district administration, we are going to inaugurate the Parikrama Project on January 17 in a lavish program at an international level. The public dedication ceremony will surely attract devotees from India and abroad. The havan and puja for the inauguration will continue for several days, the beginning of which will be decided in the Ritual Sub-Committee this evening.”

Das also praised the project’s transformative impact, saying, “The people who had visited Puri ten years back will notice a huge difference now. I am sure the devotees will get a cosmopolitan feeling while visiting Puri after the inauguration of the project.”

Additionally, Das provided updates on related projects, stating, “As far as the Sri Setu project is concerned, it is in its last legs. I think it will be completed before the Parikrama Project inauguration, around December 15. However, the Jagannathballav Parking project may get delayed a bit. But we are planning to complete it before February next year.”

This announcement is met with great anticipation by millions of Jagannath devotees and locals of Puri, promising a momentous event that will leave a lasting impact on the region.
